The US Food and Drug Administration has filled the vacancy for Director of the Office of Compliance (OC) within the Center for Drug Evaluation (CDER) with the hire of Cynthia Schnedar.
Howard Sklamberg, previous director, was promoted to Deputy Commissioner for Global Regulatory Operations and Policy in January 2014, leaving the position open.
Schnedar joins CDER from the Department of Justice, where she has been Deputy Inspector General since 2010. She has served in other compliance offices at the DOJ, including acting Inspector General, Counsellor to the Inspector General, and roles within the Sex Offense and Domestic Violence division of the US Attorney’s Office.
Carol Bennett has been filling in as acting Director of the OC since Sklamberg’s departure. She will now return to the Office of Regulatory Policy.
