Clinerion expands its patient network with addition of Greek hospital
The 746-bed hospital, Papageorgiou, in Thessaloniki, Greece, will be added to Clinerion’s Patient Network Explorer platform. The hospital specializes in research in a multitude of areas and runs approximately 62 new clinical trials per year.
By joining the platform, patients at the hospital will gain access to international research as they will be matched to clinical trials run by global pharmaceutical companies through Clinerion.
Clinerion is already partnered with a hospital in Athens, but with the expansion into this additional area in Greece, the country’s second-largest cosmopolitan area, coverage of the Greek patient population will continue to expand across the platform.
A spokesperson for the company stated, “Clinerion’s clients are looking for patients in underserved regions, treatment-naïve, or with rare diseases.”
“The benefit of Clinerion’s system is that it is agnostic to therapeutic area – we are able to support academic investigators and trial sponsors in any disease indications. Our broad geographic coverage casts a wide net for trial recruitment,” they added.
In April 2019, Clinerion added the Greek electronic health record (EHR) provider, Sigmasoft, to its platform. The software system is interoperable with the Greek National ePrescribing System which enabled Clinerion and its client’s access to patients in Greece and Cyprus.
Clinerion also is growing into other areas after adding its first Poland-based site and its first Georgia-based site to its network.
