Thermo launches elemental analyser

Related tags Chemical element

Thermo Electron has launched a new elemental benchtop analyser for
use by researchers and quality control scientists in the
petrochemical, plastics and high-grade chemical industries.

The SphiNCX provides fast, reliable and sensitive analysis of total sulphur (TS), total nitrogen (TN), total organic carbon (TOC) and total organic halogens (AOX/TX). This four-in-one configuration provodes what Thermo describes as a 'total solution' providing more capabilities in one instrument than rival products on the market.

The SphiNCX offers high and low measuring ranges in a wide variety of sample types, and is ideal for controlling ultra low levels of sulphur, preventing contamination in fuel cells. It is also able to control industrial processes by offering detection capabilities for sulphur and nitrogen analysis in refineries, and is also useful for quality control of ground water, wastewater, sludge and drinking water and monitoring of nitrogen, carbon and halogens, according to Thermo.

Thermo pointed out that the SphiNCX incorporates and is compatible with the new NeXYZ auto sampler, the first of its kind for solids, small volume hydrocarbons, large volume water samples and headspace analysis.
